Forbidden love in Bali: what can you get a prison sentence for?

Many tourists fly to the paradise island of Bali for the sun, pristine nature, clear ocean, gastronomic delights and other entertainment. However, a new version of the Criminal Code was recently submitted to the Indonesian government for consideration. The changes affected moral standards. Now you can get a year in prison for cohabitation outside of marriage. Moreover, local legislation applies not only to residents of Indonesia, but also to foreigners! The law will punish adultery, divination for love, and even the open sale of contraceptives... However, the document is still under consideration and has not been officially approved in the House of Representatives. But it’s not worth the risk and it’s better to adhere to local laws.
